I've worked as both a staff and freelance editor and am a seasoned professional at leading projects from idea phase through to printing and delivery. Coaching other writers is also a passion, as is translating technical material in a way that makes it accessible and interesting to a general audience. I'm fluent in AP style and have taught university classes from basic reporting through advanced editing.
Some of my most successful projects started as branding campaigns that I led. One—the “Our Mississippi” river magazine that I continue to edit and publish—has grown to a circulation of 50,000 at visitor centers along the entire reach of the Mississippi River and won first place in the Army's Keith Ware competition for best print publication. Some of my favorite clients are tourism destinations and resorts. For those, I've written and edited several magazines including nationally-focused “Motorcoach Living” and a Pure Michigan publication that ran as part of Parade Magazine.
